Plans for bank holiday?
Aug 25th, 2010

Bank holiday weekend – woohoo? Heading to the beach?abroad?or just staying home and “enjoying” the rain? :)

The Stig Unmasked!
Aug 23rd, 2010

The Stig has been unmasked by his own company accounts as the stuntman and racing driver Ben Collins. As you might know, there have been various speculations around the famous “Top Gear” mystery character, from Mr. Bean to Michael Schumacher. Which was the wildest guess you heard regarding this though?

Favourite food for lunch?
Aug 19th, 2010

Do you go for salad on your desk? Sandwich in the park? Quick pret-a-manger panini in a rush making your way through the crowds in the street? Or pig it out in a pub with a burger and extra chips washed down with ale?

Best coffee is …
Aug 18th, 2010

.. My coffee machine at home :) but then I am known for strange tastes :) and even despite all that I’m still partial to a bit of starbucks, cafe nero or pret-a-manger quite often. Which one serves the best coffee though?

Ringo Starr’s birthplace faces demolition
Aug 17th, 2010

Ringo Starr’s birthplace is faced with the prospect of demolition as it turns out. The fans apparently accused the council (responsible for this) of cultural vandalism. The Beatles were (and are) very popular — at home and worldwide — so does this qualifies the house for being excluded for any such demolition plans by the local council? Or should it be treated like any other house on that street?

Which tube line is the rudest?
Aug 16th, 2010

Have you ever got on a train all happy and cheerful only to be greeted by some rude comments from your fellow commuters who either had a bad morning and are taking it out on people around them or are just generally bad mouthed? You know what I’m talking about: every other word you hear around you is “f..k” and the excess of it just makes your journey all of a sudden an unbearable experience?
Which tube line is the worst for foul language?

Tourists
Aug 11th, 2010

It’s summer and there are tons of tourists in our city, everywhere you look: parks, shops, museums … tube! They certainly provide a level of revenue for London and for that reason alone only they should be welcome, right?
However, being a tourist (in any town or city not just London) means you are not used with lots of things including finding your ways around. This certainly can be observed with most tourists in London as they always stop and look around trying to figure out where they are, whether they are going in the right direction and so on. Trouble is in doing so in 99.9% of the cases the block the exit or the entrance or the elevator door or the train/bus/tube door – and for those rushing to or from work means missing that damned train that closes the doors right in front of you and making your journey unnecessarily longer and more frustrating.
Have you ever felt like pushing a tourist out of your way so you don’t have to wait behind them for ages till they make up their mind where they are going? Do you think perhaps there should be separate carriages for them on the tube to avoid this?different exits? Perhaps offering 2 types of carriages-one for those in a rush and another one for the others? (Kind of like the idea of standing on the right on the escalators?) New York City has different markings on the pavements to encourage tourists to get out of the way of the commuters – would this be a good idea or is it pushing it too far?

Buggies
Aug 10th, 2010

Despite the morning (or evening) rush hour you still see this sometimes: parents stuck with a buggy in the middle of rush hour. There’s hardly any space and with people in a rush getting on the tube is nearly a lost battle from the start-and even if they do manage to get on they find themselves blocking the doors and as such having to get off/on each stop .
Are parents irresponsible for attempting this and should they seek alternative means of transportation in these cases? (let’s face it with so many people in the carriage there’s hardly any air and surely babies will find the journey highly uncomfortable!) or should Tfl perhaps think of introducing “buggy carriages”-a bit like they do on buses?

Which tube line has most empty seats in the morning?
Aug 9th, 2010

We’ve all been there: rushing into a carriage to get that last empty seat which always get taken by someone else :) have you ever been on a train that has plenty of seats so you don’t have to rely on your elbows to get a seat? :) which line is the likeliest to have an empty seat in the morning?

Do you want that seat?
Aug 8th, 2010

Ever found yourself on a busy carriage when all of a sudden a seat becomes available? How do you react?
Do you make a run for it? Do you just stand up pretending you’re not interested but hoping that no one will take it and then after a while grab it on the basis that “no one wanted it anyway”? Or do you just not bother with it at all?
