As you might have found out during the last couple of days, TfL is to launch a Wi-Fi trial at Charing Cross station giving travellers free internet access while in the station. This does mean that people who are in a hurry can quickly download emails while in the station and then read them throughout the rest of their journey and come out at the other end having saved some time. It also means that anyone with a smartphone can also potentially start making and  receiving phonecalls and as such the eternal problem of the annoying ringtones continues underground — just where we thought we’d be safe. Which one of the two do you think carries more weight?

According to a study carried out by Google, the UK internet economy is worth about £100 bn per year — which suggests it contributes more to the economy than other industries like transport or construction.

Should this be seen as a positive sign for the internet industry or is it rather to be seen as a negative one for the other industries?

According to the Independent about 20% of the couples nowadays are LATs (Living Apart but Together) — which is meant to improve their relationship.

Do you think having that sort of arrangement can help couples strenghten their relationship or will this ultimately drive them apart?

Is it me or are there too many golf style umbrellas in London? Why do I have to get off the pavement and onto the street to “overtake” someone with such an umbrella? And how come they always walk slow making it difficult for everyone behind them?
Also, on the subject of umbrellas: I understand that when you get on the tube you’re gonna fold it and shake (some of) the rain off – but do people have to take ages in doing so? To the point where the train is about to leave and no one could get on cause you’re standing there blocking the door shaking your previous umbrella? Has this been noticed by other people as well or is it just me?

I took the Jubilee line this morning and as I entered the carriage I couldn’t believe my eyes but for a second I thought I was at a blonde convention: out of about 20-25 women in the carriage all of them were blonde! Situation changed a couple of stations later on but made me wonder which line do blondes like most?

Apparently a third of the households in UK have a Nintendo Wii. Are you one of this 3rd or are you more of an XBOX or PlayStation users?

Now that the tube strike is finished (well for this week at least!) let’s sum it up and try to figure out which line was the least affected by it?
